Thank you to everyone for your passion, collaboration, and support. Here’s to building an even stronger community together in the year ahead!
Season’s greetings to you and yours! As we head into the holidays (December 24 – January 4), we want to take a moment to celebrate the incredible strength and collaboration within our community. Even during the break, you can continue to benefit from connecting with peers, searching related threads, posting your questions, and marking helpful replies as “Accepted” in the Support Community.
Please note our dedicated team will be on reduced coverage during this time, and regular responsiveness will resume on January 5. Wishing you a joyful and restful holiday season!

New to NetSuite | Advanced Taxes: Canada Tax Lookup – Scenarios Part 2
After presenting sample scenarios on the highest priority in the Canada Tax Lookup, which is the Tax Item on the Customer record in our previous discussion, we will now provide scenarios for the next in hierarchy:
If the Customer record’s Financial tab:
- Tax Item = null
- PST Exempt box = False
The system looks at the shipping address on the transaction record. If transaction nexus is associated to Canada subsidiary, then the system uses the following (in order):
- Tax Schedule; if none,
- Tax Code for Out-of-Province Sale; if none,
- Tax Code for Exports; if none,
- Default Tax Code
For our demonstration, we'll use two items in the transaction: one with a taxable schedule and the other with a non-taxable schedule.
