Do you have advanced shipping? If so the COGS amounts will be on the fulfillment. You can investigate profitability off of the sales order. Evan, Is it possible to get the COGS amount from an invoice search? This is the only way it will work for us since we are calculating additional expenses on the invoice that are not…

Depending on what other data you need, you can also achieve the same thing using a Transactions Search. In which case:

Name -- GROUP
Number -- COUNT
Use the other Summary options (Group, Sum, Min, Max, etc) with other fields as needed.
-
Great! I was actually able to create one from scratch that seems to work, so I am good until then. Thanks! Julie, I was able to do something like this with a Saved Search. But I would be interested in know how you achieved this with Reports. Would you mind outlining the basics, like which base report you started with?…
-
Thanks Julie. Very helpful. :D
-
Hi dkuehling, This is pretty straight forward. What you can do is a transaction search, let's say with Type equal to Sales Order. Then in you result fields, you would have three fields: Date, Customer and Amount. For the Date and Amount, put the Summary Type as Maximum. For the Customer, put the Summary Type as Group. And…

It would be most helpful if we could post images in this forum. You could limit it in size (KB) to keep it reasonable.

This is probably the most common question about NetSuite reporting- search and reports each have their strengths, so you have to consider your requirements for each report. There is a lot of overlap but sometimes one is easier to configure for your use case than the other. Here's a few comments on each: . . .. Malin,…

You might look at scheduled email alerts using Saved Searches.

IS there a way to create a search or report on this scenario, Lead without Activity? Tom, You should be able to create a Customer Saved Search as follows:

Criteria

Stage Is NOT "Customer"
Activity Date is EMPTY

"Activity Date" is found at the bottom of the field list under "Activity…

How about no sales for a specific time - say the last 6 months? I'd like to send an email out to folks who haven't purchased in a while. This is definitely possible, but I don't remember exactly how at the moment. I worked on this about 2 yrs ago. You can try searching on various key words and my username. As best as I can…
-
Cecelia, Thanks for sharing such great search, and in a clear, easy-to-understand format. I really like your approach. NetSuite should consider adopting this format, and include your examples in the online help.
-
I think Evan meant "Purchase Dates". This seems to work for Criteria filter: Purchase Dates is not after 6 months ago Date of First Sale is not empty
-
The second reason is more philosophical in nature. I believe that any data fields which are are visible in the user interface need to be available for reporting as well. ... What I think needs to be done on the NetSuite side is to shore up all of the existing fields and features that have no reporting functionality. Going…

Up to this time, we still consider this FOL (fact of life)/ "as designed". There is a related feature request pending implementation. No ETA yet. Enhancement 119135 - Please add the ability to source a custom field even if Store Value = F or Please add the ability to source custom formula fields, should you wish to vote…

What I promsied is that we are changing how we design and implement in such a way that I believe less inconsistencies will be introduced. Evan, So, starting with 2008.1, should we see that the new features are much more consistent, both with the existing product and among themselves?
-
Is that a trick question? No tricks that I know of -- just want to make sure we understand correctly what NetSuite is/has committed to. While there are many, many inconsistencies in the current product, it's certainly a step in the right direction to quit adding to the list with new releases.
-
It makes me absolutely mental when a field is called one thing in one report, something else in another, and something else in a search.... Agreed. I started a thread over a year ago concerning NetSuite's inconsistencies. Evan keeps promising to make improvements on this, but I haven't seen much progress. Here's the…

Try this: max(case when {usernotes.author} in ('Karla Danell','John Smith') then {usernotes.note} end) keep(dense_rank last order by case when {usernotes.author} in ('Karla Danell','John Smith') then {usernotes.notedate} end nulls first) Evan, This looks quite powerful. But understanding the logic behind this expression is…

An Enhancement Request has already been filed and it has 10 votes. The number is 115945. The Enhancement Request 133310 that was just mentioned is very similar. Perhaps they should be combined? Either way, we need this feature added and I agree with JMUnderwood - this is a very basic feature that any ERP system should…
-
As for customer price lists, we have a solution for that. But note that prices do not have effective dates currently, that is a completely different enhancement. 133310 is purely to priduce price lists for existing pricing functionality.. OK, that sounds reasonable. What do you think about starting a new thread to get…
-
Here is how we are going to allow reporting on group/item specific pricing in 2009.1: . . . Please respond with any comments or questions. Thanks, -e Evan, Looks like you are on the right track. But I'm not sure how one would accomplish the following use case:

Each Customer has a unique price list
…

I agree with both Adrian and Patrick. We need much better Lot tracking and reporting capabilities in NetSuite. Lot tracking is a serious deficiency in NetSuite. If NetSuite wants to promote itself as being a manufacturing solution, this is one of several features that needs to be included. Just my 2c.
-
Adrian, Have you tried entering a separate line item on the SO for each lot?
-
These seem like very distinct enhancements to me. ... Evan, Thanks for that clarification. I see the distinction. It wasn't clear from the ER title (an on-going problem). It's good to hear that you are working on both of these. I have clients that urgently need ER# 133310.
-
This is not exposed to search or reporting currently. Please file an enhancement request. Thanks, -e I would hope this capability would be covered under the following ER: Please Vote for Price List ER! Again, generating a report/list etc of the effective prices assigned to a customer is one of the most BASIC needs of any…
-
Excellent idea Cecelia! It's got my vote.
-
Please vote for ER# 108496 -- Ability to roll up sub-departments under their parents on the Income Statement/ Balance Sheet Reports Details are shown at the beginning of this thread.
-
Ivan, Thanks for the update. Is there any significance between your review of Option 1 vs Option 2? Are both options being equally considered for implementation? We definitely need both. Or what would be really great is to have expandable columns like you do rows for presenting hierarchical data. So you could display the…

As usual, I cannot find an Enhancement Request by number either through search or manually scanning. Is it because it's not in the top 50 and I'm still in v.2007? The easiest way to vote for an ER is to submit on Online Case with the Title "Vote for ER# NNNNNN -- ER Title".
-
I submitted this ER on 2/24/08, yet NetSuite Support still has not created an Enhancement Issue for it. What is taking so long?
