I did what you stated above with no change. That is the problem. If I put a different amount there that is over what the bill is, it defaults to the bill amount. The system lets you pay LESS than the bill but not More. Looking for a way to record the actual check amount that was paid.

This does not help at all. That is not our work process, why are we being forced to a process that will take more time!! Is there a way to keep the old process?

The bill is the correct amount, so no editing needed. The amount paid is different from the bill amount so there should be an .81 overage. Our bills are paid via our bank's bill pay system and when the payment was made, the numbers were transposed hence the .81 overage. While looking at the account, I recently noticed that…

Micah, Does it mean I have to download bank data? We do not do that as we have too many variables. I would like to be able to reconcile the items myself.

Thank you that worked, but now I don't see the journal entry - it is not in the to be approved or JE listing. How do I find it?
-
It does it on the community site, on the main site when I click on finding out what's new with the new release etc.

The items are taxable depending on the customer, not on the item. We sell software to charitable foundations, some pay sales tax due to their state requirements, most do not. So I can't mark an item as taxable because it depends on the customer. The customer file shows it as a taxable customer, but I can not enter the tax…

It worked. Thank you!

I didn't notice the Void button. I have since voided the check, thanks.

It eventually processed.

Cali, We are a privately owned company and therefore have to pay taxes to various states we do business in. As per our tax accountants, we pay estimated taxes quarterly. These are business taxes, not payroll. At the end of the year after our taxes are prepared and submitted we true up the various taxes. Currently, I pay…

Thanks for answering Cali. I am referring to situations like the one below. Several software vendors do not add tax to their invoices, even though the item is taxable, so in order for us to calculate and keep track of the tax due, I enter the invoice in the manner below. I was wondering if there is a more efficient way.…

Ok, I understand this for a 12 month term with 12 equal payments, but we have policies with a 12 month term but only 10 payments. On the P&L we would need the total policy amount to be divided by 12 and recorded each month. will the above do that?

Yes there was an invoice as is normal (but the item is NOT fulfilled). I have Sales Orders issued for SOWs where there are multiple payments, but the revenue is not to be recognized UNTIL the SOW is completed. At the end of the month I update the Revenue Arrangements and Plans and Run the Revenue Recognition entries. That…
