There are some new bits in 2007 that might address these issues. From the Sneak Peeks: Event Organizer You can now select any employee as the organizer of an event, call, or task. This allows you to transfer administrative responsibilities, such as re-scheduling or adding new attendees the event, to another colleague when…

I also think aligning us up with any and all of Google's products is just plain smart. Google checkout, chat, Gmail, analytics, etc...all would do nothing but enhance Netsuite and improve all our pageranks. I concur. :)

In this case the CC should be stored on the Customer Record and then it will auto-populate into a Cash Sale or a Cash Refund. This is an issue with incorrect procedure, not a bug in NetSuite. You should not be storing credit card info on a memorized Cash Sale. Rather the CC info should be stored on the customer record then…

We're in a similar situation. We often need to create a memorized transaction from part of a sales order so a few of our staff have been given permission to view cc info so that they can copy and paste the number into the new cash sale. It's only a few staff that have this need so only they see the full, exposed cc number.

There are 2 options under Setup > Web Site Setup > Shopping Tab. Under the payments section there are two related options (See Below). It looks to me like I could remove the check-box in option 1 and save the information anyway by checking option 2. Can anyone confirm this? This isn't the time of year for us to be…

Same issue here. I called support and they had to "reset the switch" that is supposed to enable the permission. After that was done the permission (which is under role>permissions>setup>View Unencrypted Credit Cards) appeared and all is well.

You have several options. The best one for you will depend on your business model and your current situation. 1. How dependent are you on search engines for your business? ie: What percentage of your sales are as a result of searches (as opposed to adwords, direct traffic etc.). If most of your sales come from searches,…

Some searches sometimes time out. A basic saved search that just lists all 400,000+ customers takes 8 seconds to run. But it only takes 3 seconds to pull our list. Similarly, running a basic transaction search with 5,000,000 results takes 50 seconds on a dedicated server and only 13 seconds for 1,300,000 results on a…

You should be ok then. Global searches and very specific searches are fast for both transactions and customers. If you have specific criteria, I can test one for you. As for web services, we've actually been quite happy with them so far.

Our US sister organization has about 400,000 active customer records, running on a dedicated server. We have 40,000 on a shared server. Our searches are faster than theirs, so yes, a large database will affect performance. In fact, some of theirs time out regularly. This becomes even more of an issue with records or…

I think the easiest would be to change the item to a yearly subscription that can be set up as a memorized transaction and charge the modem and one-time fees separately. Or, set up the first item group to include only the first month and the added charges, then create a memorized transaction that begins a month after the…

We had similar issues when we started with Netsuite. It used to be much worse! We created a custom field on the event form called "event type" There we added things like event, phone call, meeting, etc. Having phone calls and events on the same form made more sense for our sales people. That lets us use the scheduling…

That's an annoyance for me as well. I'm in the images folder several times a day and it would be really nice to have a direct link that worked.

[*]My users would upgrade without me anyway, so I may as well do it in as controlled a manner as possible. Oooo ... you're much kinder to your users than I am. They don't get a chance to install anything on their own here. I'm a bit of a jerk :)
-
Still a mess here as well, though I'm also still on 2008.1. I find it interesting {read: mind-boggling} that NetSuite would choose to support Safari on Windows [which my experience has found to be a terrible browser IMO] and Chrome but not Opera... the #3 browser on the PC. Opera is a great product and perhaps the best web…

Now if we could rid the world of the Mac, but cross-browser programming problems would be over. :p I'm on it. :) I have had to limit our company to FF2 for NS use only, and FF3 for everything else. May I ask why you would move partly to FF3 before Netuite is ready?
-
And a press release.
-
Our official stance on browser versions is that beta browsers/versions are not supported. Even if that beta browser has a 30% market share? It could happen :) Also since Netsuite is javascript heavy, I wonder if these early findings will improve Netsuite performance.
-
Ahh ... gotcha.
-
suppose the thing is its not really worth using yet with Netsuite yet as its still in Beta and therefore I doubt it will be supported yet. You may be confusing Google's version of Beta with Netsuite's version. There is no comparison. When Google rolls something out to the public in beta, it's far less buggy than Netsuite…

Yup, our web based email system (Zimbra) isn't too happy with it either. We are looking at moving to gmail corporate next year anyway so this might just speed the process along a bit.
-
Just for a few hours. So far so good! We'll be testing it extensively this week and will report back. Just one more reason for Netsuite to integrate with Google and it's many tools. Google will rule the world! Resistance is futile. Download it here. Why they created another browser here.

To keep our users up-to-date we use Adobe Captivate to record trianing videos which can be played directly in our Netsuite Account. These videos are especially good for getting new staff up to speed. You can make them interactive as well and add quizes along the way. It took me a day to record and produce a 15 minute…

Ooooo ... a message.

Sounds like you're asking for the current feature set to be enhanced :D *ducks*

I think ODBC is as close as you're going to get at this point. You could use a series of reports (Crystal, excel or what have you) and run them on a schedule. If saved searches and reports are enough, you could also schedule those to run as a back-up.
-
Perhaps that's true. We're fairly un-orthodox as far as business models go, so the customization was necessary and a huge reason for us to choose Netsuite over other options. If most customers stick to vanilla Netsuite though, I do wonder why Netsuite puts so much effort into adding more options to customize rather than…
-
It's a baby Netsuite. Looks like they have a long way to go yet. It'll be nice to see some real, direct competition in the long run though.
-
I think customizability (is that a word?) is something that makes Netsuite generated online training of little value. That has certainly been our experience. As soon as a company's forms and processes change from the standard Netsuite way, in-house training is the only thing that works. That leads me to another point. I…

I just discovered this thread. What a facinating read. I've never seen a good workflow module in action, so I'll take a look at some of the products that were mentioned. We've got all sorts of workflow customizations in Netsuite but the problem is (as others have mentioned) that they're all seperate entities trying to work…
