Hello Community! Josh Maxwell, a User Experience Researcher for NetSuite Foundation has fun a question for you. Imagine for a moment that NetSuite had an assistant like Alexa or Siri. What would you ask of your NetSuite assistant? Use this survey link to share your top questions to the assistant.
Here are some examples to get your creative juices flowing.
"Did I pay vendor John Doe last month?"
"Take me to my largest sales order for this month."
"What invoices haven't been paid yet?"

@Patrick Fresnosa-Oracle we don't use Netsuite anymore. I think you would need to speak with @User_L8FL9 who is having this issue.
-
Hi @User_L8FL9 We no longer use Netsuite since 2021. I don't know if the defect was fixed.
-
We had ours set to 'First open period' not sure if that is helpful and our revenue accounting maybe is different to what your business has to follow. But this worked for us without any issues. If in doubt ask your Netsuite experts.
-
Sorry I don't understand your question, can you elaborate further?
-
No I never thought of that idea, or managed to try it. Sounds like it would make sense it would work, I remember seeing that feature, I can't foresee any negative consequences however I have not used Netsuite for 18 months now, (now using SAP), so I am behind the times a little bit and I am not a consultant only a user.…

Hi @User_EKY01 This was about 2 years ago so my memory is a bit sketchy. Was there any other solution you found for the trigger? Not from what I remember. I can't remember whether we needed to change the rev end date, save, then change it back to correct date, or whether just editing revenue plan individually without…
-
No that does not work. I also have it on the full setting.
-
Hi, it worked. Thanks! I have marked it.
-
Thanks @Patrick Fresnosa-Oracle This is helpful. I will reach out to our partner about creating a script. Look forward to hearing your comments from your colleagues about the fixed assets.
-
Hi @Patrick Fresnosa-Oracle Our Netsuite partner reviewed our account with regards to this issue. The reason it was doubling was because we have two fiscal calenders. Instead I have created a saved search which has been a workaround to using the general ledger report. Thanks
-
Hi Patrick The accounting period is my intention. Simply I am using it to tag a transaction to a month. I modified my report to be like yours and I still get the same result. I attached screenshots of my configuration: You see the transaction is still appearing twice. Its not just this transaction but others. @Patrick…

@Patrick Fresnosa-Oracle Thanks for your help. I tried the above and still getting the same result. Maybe because I am using the accounting periods as my list. When I go to the folder, I don't see name exactly. But I tried Name (Grouped), period full name and period name and still get the same result.

Thanks.
-
@kastnerd I know right! I considered disabling it but that will mean sales users will have enter the data manually. 95% of the time there will be no copying of inactive items.
-
Thanks, I will get our Netsuite partner to consider writing a script.
-
Thanks Joy. Not a perfect solution, but I have created a saved search that emails me when a transaction is created with an inactive item. I can then chase up the user to correct the transaction. Related to the above, do you know if a workflow can be created so that if any of the lines items contain a certain value, the…

Thanks Shamaine. This would be a viable option, but in an environment were there is a strong push for automation because of an increasing volume of changes we have to look past a manual fix. Maybe a script is the best approach, but I wanted to check first there is no simpler solution.
-
Hi Cali Thanks for explaining the above. We have reviewed your answer carefully and we think we have solved it. We found that within the 'Set Up Taxes' section of Netsuite. The checkbox 'Per-Line taxes on transactions' was not ticked. When we ticked this checkbox, we started to have successes with raising tax invoices for…
-
Hi Cali Below is some feedback from our inhouse tax expert, as well. We are hoping there is some ways to get round these issues. Thanks a lot for your help its greatly appreciated!! What Cali proposes below works for the most part. The downside is that you have to leave the US tax nexuses on the New Zealand company,…
-
Hi Camille, that appears to work, I am able to mark the taxable checkbox on the customer record. However, I note that are New Zealand company is not registered for US sales tax (for the example when I used it, it was state of Nevada) We also had another example, were primary subsidiary is US on the customer and its a…
-
Thanks Camille You are correct except for bullet point two, the customer is United States company. To clarify bullet one, the primary subsidiary of the customer record is a New Zealand based company/subsidiary (parent company of the US subsidiary). Yes the sales order transactions defaults to - Not Taxable - I tried the…
-
Hi Camille The alternate solution was to put a filter on the report and exclude the lines in the report that are unplanned. Unfortunately this causes the report to not agree to the balance sheet, (meaning we have to explain this variance to auditors / senior management which is not ideal) so we are still left with the only…
-
Thanks Camille. I have had a case with Netsuite for over a year now, and unfortunately it doesn't seem to be making much movement in fixing the defect. Decided to ask on here, in case there was way to solve.
-
Hi @Micah Timbol-Oracle That suiteanswer link does not work for me. Do you have a new link I can try, or help me find the suiteanswer? Thansks
-
Yes it worked. Thanks
-
Thanks Coffeeguy, I was aware of that. Unfortunately we have a large set of accounts and was looking for something intuitive. In the end, I used summary accounts, but in cases where the different account types of GL accounts went to the same management reporting category, I duplicated the summary account (of course…
-
Hi Micah I can't see it on suite ideas is the ID still 239621 Enable withholding tax on transactions (tax point is on accrual) with Revenue Recognition Schedule ?
-
Sorry for some reason the screenshots fell off
-
Hi Camille Thanks you for responding to my query. In response to your question, below is where I am trying to modify the financial report section filter, so that only accounts that have a certain value on my custom field 'Seeq Holdings FS Mapping'; however this field is not available for selection. Below is the custom…
