This is very disappointing. Are you guys saying that after waiting over a year for NS to release Outlook Integ 2.0, that it doesn't work very well? And, it is STILL in Beta??? :(
-
Defintiely still in progress. It's a complex project and we want to make sure it is very solid before we release it. Thanks, -e Evan, I'm glad to hear that you are making sure it is thoroughly tested and debugged before releasing it. Do you have any idea at this point when it will be released? Are we talking weeks, months,…

This is a logged and high priority issue 140372. Please attach yourself to this issue so you can track progress and we appropriately prioritize it. Thanks, -e Evan, This is the kind of bug the really mystifies me! How does something like this get released with even the most basic of QA testing? We have discussed…

Although my client's sales team urgently wants/needs NS/Outlook 2007 integration, we have been putting it off because of the numerous problems the product still has. Everyone is moving from Vista to Win7 as fast as they can. If NS can't integrate with Win7/Outlook 2007, then it is DOA and of no use to us.

I just downloaded a new version directly from my account (v2.0.169). I'm going to install and let you know how it goes. First sync went perfectly, with all phone numbers coming in from NetSuite! This is good! :D Jay, what version of Windows, Outlook, and NetSuite are you using?
-
Do a search on "outlook" and I think you'll find some near term updates planned.

You may be able to achieve what you want with a task saved search email alert. Thanks, -e That's exactly what we have done and it works great, even better than the native task email. We also added a custom employee multi-select field for CCs. Then in the saved search email alert, we have set the following recipients:…

Carrie, I don't believe NetSuite supports this. Generally you need to assign a task to an individual because you need the ability to track results. If you assign a task to a group, but only one person is expected to execute the task, how does anyone know who is actually doing the task? And how to you prevent duplicate…

Steve, Your designs are always right on target of what is needed/expected in the real business world. Perhaps NetSuite should hire you to consult with them on design.... ;) Of course, if they ever asked anyone who actually uses NetSuite outside of NetSuite, Inc., they could probably get some great feedback.
-
Apparently this has still not been fixed ? Someone at Netsuite needs to look at salesforce.com to see how this should be handled. A phone call, email, message, event, are all contacts with someone and should be all together under Activities. I like your idea. Unfortunately nothing will happen until someone creates an…

JMU, I'm not sure I completely understand; I haven't linked an item to another item before. So I would create a new Item record for the customer's item, and then add a custom field of type "List/Record", "Item" that would point back to the normal inventory item. Is this correct?/ You've got it. However, you may want to…
-
. Unfortunately, we also sell the same item outright, so we'll need to put the item into our system twice - once for the ones we sell, and once for the ones we recondition. You could avoid some of the duplicate data entry by adding a custom Item field that is used on the Customer Inventory record/form. This custom field…

Thanks for the reply Robert, So, in the meantime, is there any way we can detect a change to a BOM Member Item? For example, is there any way I could write a script that would log the current/old Member Quantity when a new quantity is entered by either the UI or by CSV Import? Or, even simpler, just log the fact that the…

See the best practice "Consignment Business from the Consignee's Perspective". You are basically a consignee while you have possession of their products - they still maintain ownership- I think this may be your answer. Where is this best practice document?

You may find a Warehouse Management System (WMS) that integrates with NetSuite helpful. There are a number of WMS available for NetSuite that are already integrated. See the NetSuite.com SuiteApp section. Of course, you can use an third party WMS and do the integration yourself using NetSuite Web Services.

The max report size is 25,000 rows. Many reports have been upgraded to support up to 75,000 rows, such as the financial statements. . . . One question about your use case- in the 'real world', how do you plan to use a 50,000 row report? Is there some smaller data set (exception criteria?) that would give you a more…

You can enter estimated freight costs into the Landed cost fields without having a Bill to point to. When you get the bill, the difference between your estimated freight and the actual on the Bill will show up in the Landed Cost account. Sorry I don't have the details here, but this should point you in the right direction…
-
Thanks for the info. I think we have determined we can either estimate the landed cost or forget about it completely and just expense the freight. If you expense the freight, then obviously the freight cost does not get into Landed Cost, and therefore NOT into Assembly Builds that consume your RM. If you want your assembly…

You might try running an Inventory Activity report filtered for the specific item in question. You will want to set "Show Running Total" on the Quantity column. This report lists all inventory related transactions. This should show you exactly how NetSuite has arrived at the current QOH value. If you find a discrepancy you…

Does anyone know of a company or forum (besides here:) where I can find a consultant to come to my office and help with getting our inventory set up? Setting up NetSuite inventory can range from the simple to the very complex. I will assume that yours tends to the complex side given that you are asking for help. I cannot…
-
. . . What we have been experiencing lately is that the "+" and "-" transactions are many hours apart. So, for a time after entering a worksheet, our quantity on hand is inflated artificially. The message I got back from Netsuite seems to suggest this is the "as designed" behavior. If so, this represents a major flaw.…

I had to create a new Item and I prepared to setup the Units of Measure and hit that invisible wall of misunderstanding that seems to pop up whenever I get into a non-trivial UOM situation. Steve, Seems like we discussed this once before? IAC, let me share with you and everyone the approach we arrived at after quite a bit…

Within Pieces, I have, each, Box of 5, box of 20, box of 50, box of 2000, pallet of 5000, . . . What happens if your vendor changes to a box of 25 for the same Item?
-
Well, this is an interesting question coming from a NetSuite employee. ;) However, your question is not clear. Can you be more specific please?
-
We have several inventory parts (raw material components) that we purchase from the same vendor that can be interchanged for the same part. Alternative parts can be used for the same NetSuite item. . . . I have to use the same part name in NS because this part is used in the assembly of a product. Wondering how others are…

When using the "greater than 0" filter, if you have fields that may be null instead of zero, I would recommend you convert those fields into a Formula Field (Numeric) and test your filter on NVL({yourfield}, 0). This will effectively convert all null values into 0. How do you use such a formula on a Report filter?
-
I have found that sometimes using the 'Greater then 0' filter doesn't always work correctly . . . I have found this filter does not always work.
-
The bill from the vendor was the basis for the original inventory entry Dr. - Inventory, Cr. - A/P. Subsequent to that there were then additional entries for each item of inventory (at cost) debiting the inventory account - again and crediting an account called opening balance. Should this have been handled differently and…
-
Of course all the consultants and whatever could not care less, but for ANYONE who has inventory this is essential. Oh, believe me, we CARE. When our clients are in pain we are in pain. ;)

it really would be great to stroll around this warehouse with a scanner create a csv and drop in an IAW.. This would be way cool!
