• The best solution I can find for the minute, is that Celigo make a tool where you can directly edit the database with ease. . . I don't believe it is possible for anyone to directly edit the database. All changes MUST go through the NetSuite API, whether that be the User Interface, CSV Import, or Web Services. ODBC is a…
• We have a situation whereby we're now selling items to 2 different types of customers - our own stores and our national 'corporate' accounts. I can't see a way of assigning 2 different GL accounts to the same item. Anyone have a work around? One option is to use Classes. You could have, for example:

Company Owned…
• I strongly recommend you routinely use Inventory Adjustment Worksheets to manage your inventory. . . Can't IW cause COGS deferral and COGS recalc?
• Miguel, Thanks for the suggestion. Perhaps I am blind, but for the Assembly Build and Unbuild forms I do not see a tab for Screen Fields > Columns (or Items or Components) on the Transaction form customize screen. For Work Orders, the columns for the BOM appear under the Screen Fields > Items tab. What am I missing?…
• I would not use Inventory Worksheet unless you have too. We have found that regular IA works best with cycle counts. You are entering the relative number of units that are out of sync between NS and the WH. You may want to design a cycle count program that will make sure all inventory has been counted during some period of…
• . . . when we receive deliveries from our factories, sometimes the delivery's quantities are off compared with our purchase order and we then make those adjustments, which may be numerous if the delivery has a lot of SKUs. On a different subject, you may want to consider editing the PO Item Receipt instead of making an IA.…
• Dont use Inventory Worksheet Adjustment ! It is confusing, complicated and as commented above can lead to erroneous information. Damon, I had the same reaction when I first started using IWAs. Unfortunately, as Olivier states, there are some situations where IWA provides the only solution. It is definitely a double-edged…
• Maybe you are confusing item cost with item sales price. The sales prices can definitely be "fixed price" in the sense that you type in to the Price Level the exact amount you wish to charge your customers. The avg, FIFO, LIFO, etc that Olivier is referring to applies only to Item cost. HTH.
• If you use NS Inventory Management, please vote for the following ER: Enhancement #177052 - Transactions > Inventory > Adjust Inventory Worksheet > Provide an Inventory recalculation field in the inventory worksheet that shows an option for it to be deferred or immediate. In addition, please provide an option in Setup >…
• Is there a way to report on ALL inventory adjustments by item? when I use a transaction search, I use type=inventory adjustment. It gives me the inventory adjustment records, but I would like to see ALL items in a detail report, not just the inventory adjustment records. I tried an inventory search using the transactions…
• Unit of Measure support for Assemblies is currently being considered as an enhnancement in the next release. The units for building assemblies will still be in base units only, but users will now be able to buy and sell assemblies in different units. Thanks. Peter Peter, this is good news, at least partially. ;) We really…
• We have just found several items in Netsuite that have the wrong purchase price. The Purchase Price is equal to baseprice which givea a much higher inventory valuation than should be. We are talking several thousand items with each item having multiple item receipts. Other than editing every item receipt, is there an…
• Do you have multiple UOM turn on? Do you have multi-location turned on? If so, then make sure these are consistent between the screens. HTH.
• Here's an approach I developed to display a custom BOM list on a custom tab on your Assembly Item. No scripting required.

Create an Item Saved Search that will be your BOM List

Criteria tab

Inactive is false

Results Tab

Select whatever BOM (Member Item) fields you…
• I finally figured out how to do something that's been killing me forever: do where used lookups from items. Cheers, - Miguel Thanks Miguel for sharing! I too have been looking for a way to easily show which Assembly Items use/consume a particular item.
• The Member sublist is not currently customizeable. What you can do (and something I did for a client) is recreate a subtab that has all the info from the Member tab, plus the additional fields. You can even synch the two so that if something is added to the "fake" tab it gets added on the real tab. It's a bit of a…
• Great question rayzhu! I need to know the answer as well.
• Our client needs to know how to view the total landed cost for an item also. Can anyone explain how to do this? TIA.
• Hello Rayzhu, You can still attach landed cost to an item receipt where the goods have been sold, of course, as long as the period is open. What happens if the period is closed? We have observed changes in closed periods due to inventory changes. I don't remember if applying landed costs was the reason or not.
• Hi, I'm new to NetSuite and am currently reviewing the Landed Cost functionality - along with Lot Numbered Items & Stocktake. What was the result of the above for Landed Cost? Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Susan Sorry Susan, we've been very busy and I've not had time to put together the landed cost…
• Brett, Thanks for your help, but to be honest we need much more than that. Furthermore, we use FIFO, so avg cost doesn't work. After spending about 45 min on the phone with a very helpful support rep, I think I now have a much better understand of the capabilities and limitations of reporting landed costs in…
• There is actually a transaction impact search that you could potentially use to see all the changes to a particular item but that functionality is not currently exposed. Thanks, -e Evan, Our client has made a large investment in NetSuite, and is highly dependent upon accurate inventory transactions. This search sounds like…
• The maintenance department wants to maintain the spare parts inventory. But how should NS handle spare parts being taken out of the inventory to be used as a part of a specific vehicle? A detail I should perhaps mention is that certain parts (the expensive ones)depreciate once in use, while others (the relatively cheap…
• Steve, We've dealt a lot with this type if item. You're right, you need to use UOM. You just need to think it through. When you setup a Units Type record, you can define as many unit conversions as you like. But for each Item record, after you select the Units Type, you have 3 choices:

Purchase Units
Stock…
• Steve, The "Bundle/Rolls 4/FT 50" name is the name of the Units of Measure record. On an Item form, it is called "Units Type". It is simply a text name that conveys the underlying conversions. You point about "cases" is well made. A "case" has no standard units definition. So, one might have, for example:
…
• Currently the purchases by item report includes "Assembly Build Transactions". . Damon, Sorry you're having trouble. I just ran the "Purchases by Item" built-in report and it did NOT show an any Assembly Builds, although we have quite a few in our system. It shows ONLY "inventory Items" and "Other Charge" items. Even if it…
• I am trying this for a while now but cannot get this field to show.... "Use as Category Only" check box. The thread is so old is this still applicable? I'm not sure what your objective is, but here is how I have handled "Parent" items for a long time:

Create a custom item field "NP"

Checkbox field…
• This is what I'm faced with right now as well. Brand new Inventory Item that I don't want to show on Sales Transactions and I can't clear the Income Account field. This should not be this difficult. We need an "Include in Sales Transactions" field for Item records. Easy. Steve, I agree with the need for an "Include in…
