The way we currently do this, is to create a new email from within the Messages tab on the PO, create the subject/message as required, and then simply set it to 'Include Transaction' so a PDF of the PO is then included with the email. Well I've also written a WorkFlow to do this, and whilst I can get it to use the Saved Search for it's criteria - again there seems to be no option to set the RMA status to 'closed' as an action :(

Bumping this one back up to see if anyone has an updated solution for doing this. I have exactly the same situation, I need to be able to "give away" free normal product occasionally, and and I want the cost price of the item to be assigned to a Promotion Expense GL code. Totally agree that this is a most unsatisfactory situation - ALL our refunds are done by Customer Refund, and we're constantly getting phone calls from customers wanting a receipt, and while we can print from the Credit Note, this doesn't always tie in with what's being refunded. Surely there must be way to do this

Has there been any changes in the last 4 years which now makes this possible? We have many customers who request confirmation that we have refunded them, and whilst a "cash refund" can be printed, it still seems that a "customer refund" cannot. Anyone found a workable way around this? Thanks.

How are you able to add more than one Solution? I'm beginning to wonder if I have a browser issue (Chrome OSX) stopping it from working correctly. I can select a Solution, but I see no change in the message window.

Unfortunately, each reply requires a fair bit of customisation - so we've been unable to include this level of flexibility in a Solution. You say "...it wouldn't require much editing on their end." Are you saying that they should be able to edit a solution once selected?

We discovered this morning that all our "standard" VAT rates - both UK and EU had their expiry dates set to January 1st 2011 - this was obviously not done when the rates were created - and this was causing any order to fail due to not having a "live" VAT rate. Is this something the update bundle would have changed? Mark.
