Thanks Lorne. That worked. Lists = reports now? That whole area needs work as I'm sure you'll agree. Appreciate your help though.
-
They have access to reports, but there is no export button.
-
And my second question? Does this happen with IE, Chrome or Safari (or any other browser?)
-
What browser are you using? Does this happen when using a different browser?
-
Especially when if you are using an online form, there is a checkbox that says "Use duplicate detection" ??? For what??? To start a sceance? Wiz

Yeah I get the same problem. We are using different criteria but it still wont update the records. Is this because westore signups are "leads" as opposed to customers? I love to be able to do away with leads completely. We have only one type of records we are interested in. Wiz

You can mass-inactive them.
-
Ok I found a way to do this in excel. If anyone is interested here is the formula I used to show if an email address is duplicated. I pasted this into column N of my spreadsheet (all the way down to the last record) =IF(ISERROR(MATCH(K2,$M$1:$M$999999,0)),"",L1) I exported all email addresses(column K) and internal id's…

Note: NS help returns no results when searching for "primary name field"

It's a ridiculous situation that shouldn't require a workaround, but its quicker to find a workaround than contact support... Glad I could help.
-
Maybe you could use the Name as the reference type. The Assistant finds and references text strings (such as “Joe Public”) for the mapped field. See Help topic Selecting Reference Types. Thanks, Rob Ok. That's as clear as mud but I'll search the help topic for the phrase you suggested. Perhaps that phrase would be better…

I agree it is stupid. I created a custom field in item records called "Internal ID for reports" so that I can export the internal ID from report results. I run a saved mass update with the following before I run any report where I need the internal id field to be exported. The initial run takes a few minutes, but it gets…

Nope... that didn't help at all. It seems I haven't explained myself properly. The reason for posting is because I've read he help topic. It doesn't do as suggested. Help. I have a group of customers. Let's call them Group A. Based on some external findings, a certain proportion of that group need to have a field changed.…

Thanks Kurt. That's another good workaround.
-
I don't know if it is possible, but an alternative would be to use duplicate detection and import as a "new" record - instruct duplicate detection to make older record as the master so it will only overwrite the missing fields with the new data.
-
Perhaps you need to add "Default Billing" = Y to make it appear in the customer record.
-
the help topic is quite thorough on this. Where exactly are you running into errors?
-
Evan I agree. But I'm still waiting for a solution that works. Business is down. WAY DOWN. I don't think that is a co-incidence. I also fail to see how there is disagreement on whether or not it was a mistake. A solution was provided for a problem we had. The solution caused more headaches than it cured. I received a PM…

Elham. Actually it does. There is a field called "Give Access" I'm really quite concerned because you gave me some terrible advice in this thread the other day too: https://usergroup.netsuite.com/users/showthread.php?t=2058 *bewildered*

Why not CSV import a password for all customer, lets say abc123. Send an email to all saying "welcome to our new website. your login name is your email address and your new temporary password is abc123. please log in and change it to something you use everyday." You may even generate some sales from it!
-
Hello all, This thread seems to be taking a turn of confusion. Hopefully this post clears up any misunderstandings. 1. Contact Records - CSV and web services do not provide the ability to update the "Give Access" option. A simple test is to pull up the CSV import assistant and check the field mapping. There is no Give…

Try using an underscore "_"

I have to admit I've never tried xml. I'm hanging for version 2007. Apparently there is an interface where you can just match columns of a data sheet to NS values. HURRY!

If & isn't working you may wanna try & Wiz

I must admit I have never attempted such a task. I have 2 suggestions though that might (and I stress the might) help Make sure the images are "Available without login" Paste the full url that is displayed when clicking edit button. Having said this, if you were to go to that effort you may as well add the image…

Then I may as well manually change it. Not quite what I'm after but thanks for the reply.
-
I built it with a saved search. Everything is crap out of the box.
-
Those links are empty - I can't refer to them it just keeps asking me to log in to my account. Search SuiteAnswers for "Mass Updating Custom Fields" & "Mass Update Custom field is not available for Mass Update after changing the ID"

We use a custom checkbox "flagged" (or whatever you want to call it) for orders we don't want picked yet. The warehouse saved search for orders to pick excluded such sales orders. You could script all orders to be checked if you prefer and then script or manually unstick them to release them. I'm sure there's plenty of…

I agree. Surely a refund is a related record?
