Maybe you've already looked at this option but I'll throw it out there anyway. Depending on your setup you can use the "Reassign using Territories" option in the Sales Rep field. That will run the lead through the rules and reassign both the rep and the territory. Maybe I'm misunderstanding but it seems like that would do…

Definitely a challenge. I've ended up doing a copy and paste when we really need the data elsewhere but that is not feasible for overall management. We'd like to do more with territory data but haven't found a way. Now if I could figure out how to vote for the enhancement. The fancy new SuiteIdeas site isn't terribly…

I ended up using a zipcode database to create the lists of zip codes for each area. A keystroke program would help speed up the data entry but that honestly was not the most tedious or time consuming portion. Sorting through the lists to determine which ranges are unique to an area is the part I would like to cut out. And…

So several of our sales territories are changing which means I am back to dealing with the same issue. As I've been using NetSuite I've become more suprised that zip code integration is lacking for sales rules. For example when entering an address you can simply type the zip code and NetSuite will fill in the city and…

I am currently working through the process of setting up sales rules for territories using zip codes. The task is a major pain and changes in the future will be just as bad. If anyone comes up with suggestions that would simplify the process and make it not so horrible to maintain I would be interested. So far I have been…

That's a great idea. Our territories aren't really defined by zip code but that was the best match I could find in NetSuite. The territories that cover whole states are easy. The states that are subdivided are done by county which NetSuite doesn't currently support. That's why I decided on zip codes. I am playing around…

Support confirmed it is an open defect and being worked on.

Apparently not as basic a question as I was hoping. Any ideas?

I appreciate the response and yes, the conversion would be on the retrieval end. What you have suggested requires an additional platform and limits the ability to report on live data. I'm trying to connect reporting tools to the ODBC directly. Is there really no way to do this with SQL supported by Connect? Even a way of…

Actually most of the query work I was referring to was for SSRS, not Excel. We often use DaFT to develop the queries and then create the dataset in SSRS. BTW if someone has suggestions on other tools for running SQL queries against the ODBC I'd be interested. I am looking more into the PowerQuery route available in…

I'm happy to see a good discussion around this topic. As Alex mentioned, I have seen other threads but rarely much conversation. Surely there are others working through similar challenges of data availability and enhanced visualization. It would be nice to share ideas and solutions. We have been using the ODBC in a few…

I really hope the advanced analytics comes soon. Based on what I'd heard at SuiteWorld 2015 we had hoped for 2016.1. Doesn't look like that is the case. Improvements to saved searches/reporting in-product would have a big impact for users. I'm skeptical that it will do enough to completely replace the need for some…

We've looked at this before and haven't found a way to get at the sales rules data. I'd be very interested if there is some access available.
-
Using transaction_lines as the measure, looks like we're at about 1.6 million rows. As you mentioned, that seems to be the largest table.

There is pretty good documentation around both the web service and odbc offerings. As Olivier pointed out, there are big differences between the two when it comes to what data is available and how it is presented. Again reviewing the developer guides and other documentation makes it easy to see the differences. Both…

We had similar frustrations with the underfeatured and limited reporting available within NetSuite. We started using the ODBC to develop reports using outside tools and had much better luck. Even then there are some limitations to the ODBC that don't make it the perfect alternative either. At present we use a combination…

There's another thread that references an existing enhancement for this. It would be good to get everyone voting on this. Apparently it won't link directly to the thread so here you go:…
-
We have some C# apps that use the web services to pull data or run searches and then use that data to generate the reports. So it's not actually a report tool that is connecting to the web services.
-
The guide is available in the user guide section of the help. The videos are in the Self-Paced Training Videos section of SuiteAnswers, which you can get to through the Support tab. Once you're there look in the Saved Searches/Reports category.

So the thread has views but no responses. I guess others are wading through the same challenges. Has anyone been able to set up a linked server using the v6 driver?
-
I'm very glad to see a response. I am the Administrator on our account and that is my default role so that should give me access to everything, based on your description. I will try qualifying the table references and see if I can get that to work. Where are things like this documented? I have had several things cause…

I was able to get a linked server set up in SQL Server using the ODBC connection. Queries run but the performance suffers. Trying to run a query with a couple of joins is horrible. I've resorted to writing a utility that will take care of copying data locally to a sort of cache that can then be used by our reporting system…
-
I am also trying to figure this out. Has anyone had luck with this? We keep finding limitations in our abilities to query the needed information through the ODBC and are hoping that we can still find a way to make it work.
-
Is this specifically Windows 10? Could it be a combination of Windows and Outlook versions? We're seeing similar behavior for some users who have migrated to Office 365. The install runs but doesn't seem to do anything. Directories are not created, add-in is not installed, nothing. Other users haven't had problems at all.…

We had enough problems that the users lost faith and have given up. The bigger surprise came when I changed my sync settings and lost all synced events. I was able to reconfigure and get the sync to put them back but they were no longer connected in Outlook as they should have been. That being said, we have been able to…

It may be in the way that the global bcc is used. I personally don't use that setting and haven't tried it out but I could see that happening. NetSuite creates the case and sends the auto response with your address as a bcc. When the out of office reply comes back NetSuite acts as if the case had been updated and forwards…

Just came across this and was happy to provide feedback. Is there an update in the works? I still have users asking for this and it is hard to tell them that NetSuite doesn't support Outlook 2010.
-
A while back I spent some serious time troubleshooting the odd behavior we were seeing. It turned out that Outlook needed to be run as an administrator in order for the plugin to work. Even though the users experiencing problems were local admins unless we explicitly ran Outlook with the "Run as Administrator" option the…
-
And I just had another question about when this update will be available. Hopefully everyone here has voted on the enhancement. Maybe there will be news before the next version of Outlook is announced.

I was just told this week that the target date for Office 2010 support is September. And since development is always on time...
