I've just discovered that one of our purchase order has gone missing with UPS. Obviously the order will be closed, and items needed reordered. What i'd like to try to do is see if there is any way at all to get a report by PO line items or open sales orders needed these product... To allow CS to contact clients to notify…

actually, your 'simple' report is not that simple. You are trying to combine two entity reports into one, without having a cross referencing point. To explain it in more simple terms, if the item and the vendor are not linked, you will not get any results. (the preferred vendor is blank) You may have to create a…

quantity on hand is the total number of items you have in your inventory. Quantity available is the number of items you have that are not comitted to orders. There is a wealth of reporting that can be done, both within NS a well as outside NS, without advanced analytics. I would suggest that you watch the prerecorded web…

Hello, The base 'metric' of the report you are describing is one based in items. (except for qty fulfilled- that is transactional based) Go into reports-inventory- and look aroound for a report that can work for you. You are essentially looking for the form 'order items' in a report, and it should be possible. Outside of…

Hi Carrie, I got it many times, although not sure I should admit why... oh well, here goes, when I ran the web query the first time, I misspelled my name, and I also chose something along the lines of 'always use this login for this query'- or something like that (it was a checkbox). It took me an hour to figure…

I believe that items are comitted at the time orders are approved. Unless you are dealing with special order items that have been ordered for a specific SO- If other so's have items out of stock, and a new order is entered, with a PO for only the items needed for the new order, those items will commit to the newer order.…

I would imagine a report that is pulled on a weekly basis should do the trick- how efficient are you in NS reporting?
-
what kind of report- transaction?
-
when an order needs to go out? Your confusing me. Let me tell you what I know of ship date- as I use this often. Ship date is populated when the item is fulfilled. It is not something that is pre-set- hence, it will not populate until it is shipped. Since it sources from the fulfillment, it is usually something that you…

Angela - on #1 - in the Q2 release you will be able to filter the alert based on a field changing (you can use system Notes: Field to identify the field and System Notes: Date/Time to filter to the time within the last 10 seconds e.g.). Thanks, -e Thanks, Evan- good to know. Are any of these classes recorded, so that we…

If a search will work for you two- new search- transaction criteria=type=SO on results, ship date and actual ship date are standard choices Not sure about reports, though.

no feedback at all?? did this work for anyone else?

well, I am still working out the kinks- my report is a bit skewed due to the way we use JE's to offset trades (ap/ar) between our divisions (we have three) but if the system is used in a straightforward manner, it should work. Keeping in mind several things- the report must include both invoices and fulfillments, as the…
-
WOW- It worked? good to know, now all I have to do is figure out how to deal with incorporating JE's. Perhaps someone has a tip here- Right now, in this report, it appears that for every payment applied to an invoice, the payment is applied to each line item based on a percentage of the total payment. When you have…

I have been able to complete this report- if anyone is interested in the report parameters, let me know- Ill post them.

In the 'Columns' filter of the report, does running the report by 'Accounting Period' help? Regards, ~angela

Hi Jim, I'd be happy to explain. I have actually done a great deal more testing with this, so my original post of average pricing instead of actual wasn't completely accurate. The problem is simpler than I originally thought, but just as misleading. First-I'm not going to do the full citation, but wikipedia says the same…

But the estimated GP will only be as accurate as the cost estimate type. E.g. if you’re using the ‘item defined’ cost estimate type, you will have to make sure that it’s up to date. Thanks! Darren Hi Darren, A very quick question for you, if I may. In the sneak peek, and other sales/ marketing info put out recently, the…

thanks Cecelia- always nice to confirm I haven't lost my mind. I'm so far past batty right now, it's not even funny. So, if I understand this, Netsuite uses a definition of Gross Profit other than an industry standard definition. (I checked wikipedia, says rev-cogs=gp) so is Gross Profit as a name a bit misleading- or am I…
-
Angela - The reality is that any statement of gross profit when the inventory impact has not happened yet (e.g. on an opportunity, estimate, or sales order) is by its very nature estimated. Thanks, -e Hi Evan, you are absolutely correct, although my own disclaimer here is that I am evaluating the NS GP on the report, and…

The Facts:

COGS is essential to the GP formula.

Netsuite report is date driven.

If the dates exclude the step in the transaction cycle that impact COGS - Netsuite calculates cogs as zero.

This is not acceptable in any industry standard GP formula, EVER. There…

Using the register for the COGS account (you listed one account) may not capture the correct number. COGS is a type of account, as well as an actual account itself. Depending upon the financial report layouts, some other COGS accounts may roll into the number seen on the income statement. Does that help?
-
Hi Jim, All financial reports are based upon criteria and setup of the chart of accounts. If you are talking about basic financials (ie Income report, balance sheet, etc) the presentation can be changed only by rearranging the account types. So, to answer your question, yes, it is possible to do this, but not by using…
-
If you don't use account numbers, then you cannot sort by something you do not use.
-
If your needing both, you might want to just customize the financials and save a copy for cash base, leaving default as accrual. To do this, go to your financial statement, click customize, and place a check box in the 'cash basis' box. Once you save it, you can run both reports without messing with your settings. You will…
-
If you go into setup-accounting-accounting preferences-in the 'general' tab, there is a box that is called 'cash basis reporting' If you click it and save, should do the trick.
-
what does your sort option show? Reports-financial- TB-Customize- sort order?
-
I see the summary count field- but each time I apply this count to the transaction number, my search comes up blank. Anyone know what I am doing wrong? ok wait- it isnt blank, but the only thing displayed is the count, in the top right of the screen. What I want is the list of items, with a summary count of the total…

T, We set these some months back. They have been duplicated from day 1, and no amount of deleting, rescheduling, or any other tweeking has made any difference.

Cash is not required to go through the undeposited funds account to show up on a reconciliation. The only reason a JE, payment or even a deposit wouldn't show up on a reconciliation would be if it had been cleared on another reconciliation. Are you sure that there is not a second reconciliation out there?
