Setup -> Shipping Reference Fields. We use Purchase Order and Item Name but there are other choices. These show up on the bottom of the UPS label.

We rolled it out for testing in Beta but have decided against it because of errors and some instability. We don't have the time to commit to debugging and reporting issues, particularly when we are about to go live on 2012.2. We plan to wait to see it mature a bit more before trying again.

We are evaluating a system from Contactual. It integrates with NetSuite and works with any phone system because lines are redirected to their system and back. They operate globally. We have reason to believe that this is the system NetSuite uses for their support center.

I am interested.

Malin We are a software development company. For what it's worth, we post a public saved search in the Customer Center that outlines all product changes in Release Notes. That eliminates duplication of effort because we are using NetSuite data. Since we manage development using NS Issues, we have enhanced the functionality…

We apply the cost of shipping on the Landed Cost tab. That prorates the freight on a receipt/bill across all items received by weight (or other allocation methods). The net result is an Average cost that combines the purchase cost plus freight (and for our Australian office, Customs) so that we reflect a true COGS…

Instead of using an existing center, create a custom center: Setup > Customization > Centers and Tabs > Centers You can add custom tabs and make it exactly what you want. We've done this for a few unique roles. For example, we have a few employees that manage items so they have full permission to items as well as other…

Has anyone noticed erratic behavior related to DAD subfolders? We see a ">" next to a few root folders that exposes subfolders but it appears to be random. I've tried considering the number of subfolders, presence of files at the root and other criteria but the appearance of the carat to expand is truly random in terms of…

We started down the path of attempting to run two companies in a single instance but it was far more work than it was worth and we did run into issues related to posting mistakes and the like. When we moved to OneWorld things got a lot easier. We sell to our subsidiary. We drop ship to our subsidiary's customers. We've…

Andy, I have virtually the same problem you describe, with lots of custom fields on the customer record. I would appreciate learning more about your script.

I will try again.. Is there a way to provide a Customer form that does not have EDIT permission? If so, then perhaps I could offer two Customer forms: 1. Edit/View but 'System Information / Access' is hidden 2. View only that displays System Information / Access. A user would be defaulted to #1 but have the option to…

We are in the process of doing the same thing. Search help for HTML portlet to get started.

Thanks Evan. I didn't realize the impact of 'parent' in this context. That's a remarkably powerful feature and the solution was considerably easier than I imagined. Works exactly as desired.

Eric Use Lists / Web Site / Tabs to add a new tab to the Customer Center Create a saved search and publish it to the Customer Center. Use this formula Formula(Numeric) decode({customer.id},{me},1,0) =1. Follow this thread for the background: https://usergroup.netsuite.com/users/showthread.php?t=19133 We have several of…

We are a software company and we share your pain. We need hundreds of solutions containing a standard Windows file path and we avoid it as much as possible. The workaround is problematic especially since solutions are created by a lot of our staff. We've had to assign a single person to approve all solutions so that we…

We have received positive results from a combination of enhancement requests we submit and our voting on enhancements.

What I don't understand is that Netsuite rolls out these Updates without saying anything and then you look to your website and things are modified. We now have all our related items and Important Info / Freight tabs pretty much destroyed through our website. Example…

Alex I regularly change permissions on folders using the native administrator role. These are my column headers for the right pane of the File Cabinet Folders screen: Edit ---Internal ID -- Name ----- Size --- Last Modified --- Type --- Download I created a custom Administrator role in our system for a limited system…

I agree with the importance of unique passwords. In fact, we have servicing resellers that are associated to user records and the resellers have a unique password for each user account. This makes it possible for a reseller to access each end user's customer center. That is, one email address but a unique password for each…

We already host large files in cloud storage using an application we wrote with NS Single Signon. Our storage costs are nominal. All of our downloadable applications and product manuals are in another cloud that offers low cost per GB. To our Customer Center users the off NS storage is seamless and when you consider the…

We received notice that an Issue we reported affecting file upload problems related to various file sizes and types was applied late Wednesday evening.
-
You may not be alone. Our users are reporting random failures to upload documents of various sizes and types including PDFs. Files are less than 5MB in all cases. *** Defect 182867: Uploading files | occasionally files cannot upload. We know that we are over the allocation for file cabinet space and I reported this as a…

In addition to Company Information (and subsidiary records if you have OneWorld) an address can be set per transaction form.
-
We abandoned Other Name use because of some of the problems you describe. I received 'off the record' advice to avoid this entity type which seemed to suggest that it may not receive any attention and could be deprecated.
-
No problems with IE8 on any of our systems. We were testing with IE8 before IE8 was released and have used it on our systems since release.
-
You can use the option on the Info tab to assign the Other Name entity to a Vendor relationship. We assign multiple relationships often for vendor, partner, and customer but we are abandoning Other Name. We have had issues with Other Name, particularly because we number vendor and customer accounts and that's not supported…

We've had problems with the offline client for eighteen months - we won't explore the frustration here. This is what our staff determined were steps necessary to make it work. Check your provisioning to ensure you have adequate licenses. Enable offline client for sales roles but for no more than the max provisioned. If you…

For five years we used the two beta periods. We have a pretty thorough QA process for reviewing each beta starting with testing existing functionality, then new features, then the freedom to test anything any of our users wish, which includes potentially risky customizations. It was limited to twice a year but it was free.…
-
I thought we were all alone in a lack of understanding. It's good to know it's a system issue and not our use - we follow an identical path and have exactly the same problems. I wasn't aware of the bug related to convert/lead source for contact. *Can you let me know the defect so we can attach?* I haven't see reports since…

We gave up on Outlook integration more than once for a variety of reasons, the most concerning of which was the inability to centrally manage the interface/permissions etc. We followed a NS recommendation to start all emails in NetSuite, which we've done for several years. That works fine for outbound messages but there's…
