    Summary:

    I would like to know the impacts of doing the journal entry/posting for a Parent segment value. What impacts will be there on allocations, balance inquiry, reporting, Essbase cubes, etc. Is there any specific documentation which can explain why we should not do journal entry or posting for a parent segment value?


    I am aware that Oracle does not allow posting if summary is set to Yes in FBDI, but this can be modified from frontend and posting can be allowed even for Summary segment values. Hence, wanted to know the possible impacts.
