Did You Know? Use OTBI to find database tables and columns that hold transactional data

Whilst OTBI is the primary tool for transactional reporting, you sometimes need to know which database tables/columns hold specific transactional data e.g. when you create a bespoke data model for BI Publisher reporting/data extracts. In such circumstances you can use the following technique to find those tables and columns in the database.

To employ this technique you'll need:-

  • BI Administrator privileges.
  • The business objects you are interested in to be modelled in an existing OTBI subject area.
