SOAP API Deprecation (UPDATED)

    Update (May 4, 2016): We have extended support for two SOAP API services beyond the dates originally communicated with this announcement.

    In the absence of supported RESTful alternatives, support will be extended for the following SOAP API services:

    • EloquaService API will remain supported until April 1st, 2017, with basic availability and security fixes only
    • ExternalActionService (aka Cloud Connector API) will continue to be supported indefinitely

     

    What we are announcing

    This is an update to a previous announcement  (https://community.oracle.com/docs/DOC-906235).

    Support for specific SOAP API services will be extended beyond the previously announced date of October 31, 2015.

    As was previously announced, as of November 1st the following SOAP API services will not be altered, even upon the discovery of a defect, and the support team will no longer provide assistance for issues related to these services:

    • EloquaDataTransferService
    • EloquaCampaignService
    • EloquaVisitorService
    • EloquaEmailService


    The above APIs will be deleted in the release following May 1st, 2016.


    As an update to the previous announcement, in the absence of supported RESTful alternatives, support will be extended for the following SOAP API services:

    • EloquaService
    • ExternalActionService

    The above APIs will remain supported until May 1st, 2016, with basic availability and security fixes only.  They will be deleted in the release following October 31st, 2016.

    Updated May 4th, 2016: In the absence supported RESTful alternatives, support will be extended for the following SOAP API services:

    • EloquaService API will remain supported until April 1st, 2017, with basic availability and security fixes only
    • ExternalActionService (aka Cloud Connector API) will continue to be supported indefinitely

     

    Next steps for Developers

    Any developer consuming the EloquaDataTransferService, EloquaCampaignService, EloquaEmailService or EloquaVisitorService SOAP APIs should switch to a supported RESTful API immediately.

    Further Details

    EloquaDataTransferService

    The entire API located at /API/1.2/DataTransferService.svc?wsdl will be decommissioned.

    Please use the Eloqua Bulk API.

    EloquaCampaignService

    The entire API located at /API/1.2/CampaignService.svc?wsdl will be decommissioned.

    Switch to the appropriate Eloqua RESTful API.

    EloquaVisitorService

    The entire API located at /API/1.2/VisitorService.svc?wsdl will be decommissioned.

    Switch to the appropriate Eloqua RESTful API.

    EloquaEmailService

    The entire API located at /API/1.2/EmailService.svc?wsdl will be decommissioned.

    Switch to the appropriate Eloqua RESTful API.

    EloquaService

    The API located at /API/1.2/Service.svc?wsdl will continue to be supported.

    Most functionality of this API is also supported by the Eloqua Bulk API and the Eloqua RESTful API.

    It is recommended that developers switch to the RESTful equivalents where possible.

    EloquaExternalActionService

    The API located at /API/1.2/ExternalActionService.svc?wsdl will continue to be supported.

    This is the API used specifically for use with legacy Cloud Connectors.  Developers building on the E10 Campaign Canvas should immediately begin migrating their Cloud Connector Apps to the new AppCloud Developer framework.
