What are the differences / use cases of Program v Program Builder?
Program Canvas (PC) and Program Builder (PB) have many similarities in the use cases they solve.
History: PB existed in Eloqua way before PC. PC was created to make an easier version of PB. PC is drag-n-drop while PB is not. It's much easier to break a PB than a PC and hard to fix a PB than a PC such as when accidentally deleting a step or decision, it's harder to fix in PB than PC.
Big difference: PC operates faster than PB even when PB is in "priority" mode.
Both are used for a variety of use cases that are most commonly NOT campaign execution: data standardization/cleaning of contacts, data augmentation to contact fields, data management like matching records, workflow logic to determine when records update your CRM/similar system, triggering 3rd party apps in Eloqua such as bringing in responses from your survey/event/webinar/social tool, etc.
Campaign Canvas (CC) is where you typically execute communications out of Eloqua such as emails, SMS, etc. NOTE: CC can also use many of the same 3rd party apps that can be used in PC. PB is not able to trigger most of the apps.
Thank you, @kpindle for being so helpful as always!
