Create your own HDL Files in Excel

edited Apr 20, 2017 8:10PM in HCM Integrations 2 comments

Summary

Using this method, you can create HDL Files Manually for upload in Excel

Content

1. Find the metadata header format for the HDL file you are creating

2. Insert each metadata header as the first row in an excel workbook.  Each row needs it's own workbook because CSV files can only save 1 worksheet at a time.

3. Insert the data you want in your HDL file into the spreadsheet as text

4. Change the list separator in your language and region settings under the control panel options for windows (picture attached) to the pipe "|" delimiter.  Or whatever delimiter you use for your environment if it isn't the default pipe.  [Don't forget to change this back to a comma when you are done or you'll experience some major issues in other applications]
