    Leverage the Oracle SQL engine to query data across sources without requiring an Oracle Database

    Use Case and Business Need

    I want to use the Oracle SQL engine to virtualize access to all data – without requiring an Oracle Database.  There would be a common metadata store describing sources, including Oracle Databases, data in Object Store, Kafka, Hadoop, etc.  A query console would expose that metadata - and then allow people to query/join that data using Oracle SQL.  There would be zero administration for this service - it would be autonomous.  So, simple access to all data - with rich query support.
