Based on my understanding of creating a snapshot, I have the option of creating snapshots of the metadata(node types, apps, etc)  and/or security objects.   When I use snapshots for migrating, I have to migrate everything, i.e. all applications, all nodetypes, etc.   I cannot selectively filter and migrate a specific application or any other specific objects across environments.
