Is there any document available that would give details on the predefined exceptions on Supply Plan and Demand Plan?

We are currently trying to understand what the exception means, what are the parameters that determine the exception, what the default thresholds are and what action is required for the exceptions brought about by the plan output.

A few examples of predefined exceptions in supply planning include 

Order Sourced from Alternate Supplier

Order SOurced from Alternate  Facility

Items with excess inventory

Items with safety stock shortage etc.
