Data storage property for source cube/default cube

We are having to set data storage property twice-Once when we add a member and then again in Member formula tab

All parent members in our account dimension are dynamic calc. However, they are not aggregating. 

Source cube for all the account members in question is OEP_FS.

When we checked in member formula tab,we noticed that for "default" cube the data storage property was indeed dynamic calc but for OEP_FS it still had the data storage property of "Store".We are having to individually change data storage property of each parent account in member formula section. Why are we having to do this twice? Isnt the source cube itself the default cube?
