Defaulting current month on reports

A request has been made by our users to default the current month/date on report.

Our issue is that the users have to hunt for the current period on a list of dates when they want to run a report - ex. Journal Entry Reserve Ledger Report. They would like the current date to default on the report. Is there anyway this can be done?
