Data Exchange business rules. Pass a source application substitution variable value as parameter in

I have a pod to pod data integration in which I use a subvar in the source data filter criteria to define the version I'm exporting from.  When the data is transferred over to the target pod I'd like a business rule to run at the target that fixes on the version value specified by the same subvar I used at the source.   With the semi-new business rule execution options present in Data Exchange is there a way to do this via custom run time prompt, integration option etc.?

I know I can do this via Rest/Business rules but would rather not go down that path.
