LRP scenario is not getting calculated by built in out of the box calculation Rules.

HI,

We need to implement Long range planning in our application. But we did not configure/enable the strategic modeling in our application. But we want to use the scenario "LRP"  in forms and rules in order to implement the Long range process. But when we attached the built in rules for ex: Trend based calculation to the LRP forms , the calculation was not picking up the LRP scenario like Plan and Forecast. Is there any other way to use these rules for the scenario LRP also?
or The rules will work only if we enable the strategic modeling. Please let me know your thoughts.
