Cross posting from the Finls – General area. This would be applicable and helpful to the entire ERP / HCM Cloud suite. Organizations coming from an E-Business background would recognize this would reduce custom role design level of effort by as much as 90%.

In Oracle E-Business Suite, functionality exists that allows for security to be excluded (such as Functions and Menu Exclusions). This provides the ability to remove certain high-risk functions (and sub-menus) for seeded roles and for customized roles.

The customization of roles is essential to meet compliance, security, and operating objectives. We strongly encourage the customization of all roles due to sensitive access issues that are found in every seeded role provided by Oracle.
