Summary:

We need to know if we plan to have a Active Data Guard Target database, do we have to have the same Edition of Database in the standby/target?

For example if our source is "Enterprise Edition - Extreme Performance ( 11g Release 2) " Virtual Machine DB System, then do we have to have the Enterprise Edition - Extreme Performance Target as well?

is that possible to have only Enterprise Edition as Target?

Note that we NOT expecting to use OCI console to configure Data guard. We planning to config manually.

Version (include the version you are using, if applicable):

DB System 11gR2
