Generate automatic number sequence for Document number in Document Records

Summary:

Hi Team,

Is there a way we can have automatic sequence configuration for Document Number in Document Records?

Content (required):

Like for example, some customer uses document record functionality for employee letter requests and get that automatically generated from the system. Each request should hold a unique identifier or a request number say which we can call it document number. Currently the document number field is the seeded one and is free text. Is there a way we can create our custom DFF field and make like document number to be having automatic number sequence (0001, 0002, 0003, etc.) according to document type where we can specify the starting number?

Howdy, Stranger!
