Price Engine - Recalculate/Refresh in Commerce

Summary:

We are trying to implement Price Engine for one of our simple use case. We have parts with customer specific pricing and then we have parts where we give default discount if they don't fall under the first category. We have set it up successfully in Price Engine but this logic only kicks in during configuration but we would like this price engine to also calculate in commerce as well.

The use case is that if there is a price update and we would like all the open/in progress quotes to get the new price, it should happen using the save/update price button without need for the user to re-configure. We can have 100s of quotes in progress and it is not practical to ask users to go reconfigure all the products to get the new price. Is this possible? and why it is not supported out of the box.
