Is buy sourcing rule without specifying supplier supported ?

Summary:

Is there a way to have a buy planned order that is released to a PR without specific supplier.

Content (required):

If someone wants to forecast demand and plan supplies for the next months (e.g 10 months). On the other hand they don't know yet who is going to supply them after a few months (e.g. 6 months). At the sourcing rule definition UI the supplier is not mandatory field, but when saving the sourcing rule, an error is returned. Can we have anyhow a buy sourcing rule without specifying supplier and when the planned order is released a PR is created without specific supplier (to be determined when PO is created)?
