Apps Composer Global Function - How obtain Object reference without using Service Call

Summary:

For unrelated reasons, we are trying to avoid REST/SOAP call which currently gets us object information in a global function.

We are struggling to find an alternate means from a Global Function, to get an object.

It appears the newView feature only works in object functions which eliminates that nice tool.

Is there a way to pass the Global Function the object, from a Product Rule?

We've setup the Global Function to receive an object, but having a challenge at how to specify the object from the trigger point Product Rule.
