SmartPush failing when using sub variables to push multiple versions

When I set a smartpush to run using a substitution variable for the versions, the smartpush fails when we say 'yes' to the 'clear data' option. However, when we say 'no' to clear data the smartpush works. This seems to be the case when populating multiple versions in the variable using a comma. If I populate the variable with just a single value for the version e.g. 'GGY_BizDev1' the smartpush works fine.
