Considerations for Upcoming Summer Enhancements

We would like to an announce the upcoming release of two features focused on Summer packaging intended to increase automation and improve general student experience and usability. Since many institutions are approaching their summer registration, we wanted to highlight the benefits of these features to allow you to determine whether it would be more advantageous for you to award summer after these features have been released.  


Enhanced Calculation for Summer EFC

This feature will improve summer packaging automation by introducing a separate need calculation for standard and summer terms used for all need-based Title IV funding.  

While the current approach to calculate need and use a single EFC for the entire Academic Year can be used if the school is able to confirm enrollment for the Summer at the start of the SAY, the approach to package summer independently provides a consistent calculation in the standard and summer enrollments when the summer term is being packaged after the standard terms have been disbursed.
