Can we automatically end date the asset or it has to be updated manually?

1. If the asset comes back for depot repair from customer is getting scrapped, will it be end dated(Asset End Date) automatically or do we have to do it manually?

2.Once the asset is end dated and deactivated, can we be able to reactivate it ?
