In a kitting process, is it possible to replenish the assembly location from an active location?

The question is the following: Is the replenishment of the assembly location supported from both active or reserve locations? Or the only way to replenish the assembly location would be from a reserve location?

Going through the Kitting documentation in the Oracle User Guide, the capabilities of the kitting process in WMS can be unclear. 

We know that one of the first steps of the kitting process is to replenish the assembly location with enough units from the child item to combine them together in one parent kit.

Is this replenishment possible from both active or reserve locations? Or the only way to replenish the assembly location would be from a reserve location?
