How to build your own preference center AND retain native unsubscribe reporting in Insight/OBI
About 3 years ago in preparation of CASL GDPR and some other initiatives we moved away from using the native one-click Eloqua unsubscribe to a custom preference center using a combination of Eloqua forms and landing pages. This worked great however in order to gain more control and options from the one-click unsubscribe we needed to sacrifice the native Eloqua tracking for unsubscribes within templates and campaigns which seemed fine for a long while until we decided to move our preference center back in house and determined we needed to focus on improving our unsubscribe rates.
As you may know, if you try to build your own preference center in Eloqua you immediately lost the ability to track which emails and campaigns your contacts are unsubscribing from when looking at the operational reports within your templates and campaign overviews.
