Are any changes to Eloqua canvas templates possible?

As far as I know it should not be possible to change anything on a saved campaign template (no matter of a user's access). Oracle sources I found online confirm that.
However, I discovered that the feeder called - form submit - can be edited (a new form name can be provided in a feeder) and saved successfully on a campaign template (the template itself is saved and changed). There is NO requirement to create a NEW template (with a new name), if the form submit step is edited.
