Slow Database Upgrade from 11g to 19c

Summary:

We recently attempted to upgrade a copy of our Production database from 11g to 19c in preparation of actual Production upgrade to be done in few weeks. The Upgrade runtime (Auto upgrade Deploy) was very long, and the upgrade took in total close to 7 hours 40 minutes. This process generally takes 1 to 1.5 hours for upgrades but is very long for this database. Since Business would not approve this long downtime, we are looking to optimize and bring down the upgrade timings. I am providing the breakup for various phases for Auto upgrade Deploy below:

PRECHECKS:20 minutes

PREFIXUPS:15 minutes

DBUPGRADE:6 hour 40 minutes
