can we create the lot generation unique across category?

Summary:

For example, I have Raw Material Category, which contains item X, and item Y

I want to generate the Lot on Item X to be RM0001, then i receive Item Y and Generate the lot to be RM0002

and for the Packing Material Category, which contains items A, B

I want to Generate the lot on item A to be PK0001, and Item B to be PK0002
