Is it possible to set the country of origin at item definition level

Is it possible to set the country of origin at item definition level

My customer wants to be able to track the country of origin/country of manufacture at item level (on the item definition). The requirement is to be able to track this information on PO's, receipts, on-hand and shipping.

I can see we are able to select the country of origin during receiving and see that info on the on-hand etc.

However, I've not been able to find anything at the item definition level. Would appreciate confirmation whether it's possible and if so, how it can be achieve without defining DFF's (or similar).
