Date client-side verification using regex

I need to implement a client-side verification using a normal text input field but the regex won't work

I've been trying to implement a date validation on the field itself just like the default email and phone fields do.

What I want to achieve is to validate date in the format "dd/MM/YYYY".

I've been using this regexp

Obviously I escaped it like this
