Creating assets via API without existing transaction

I am trying to directly create assets via REST in CPQ without any in-progress transaction. I encountered one issue. I dont know where to get or how to generate assetKey for my payload.

Please advise.

EDIT: looks like random values as long as unique will work.

another issue i encountered is the attributes{} value.

tried passing this as input but corrupting the created asset.
