Golden Gate reconfiguration after source database RMAN clone
Summary:
Customer is using Golden Gate (Cloud) to transfer data from on-prem Peoplesoft database to Oracle ADW. In DEV/UAT environments, the source Peoplesoft database will be cloned using RMAN on a weekly basis. But it appears that Golden Gate requires a good amount of follow-up work after this, like export-import of Peoplesoft schemas to target schema, GG reconfigurations etc, that can take 3-4 days and thus consume the time gap between the clones. Customer does not have good network connectivity between the source and target systems either.
Are all these follow-up tasks really needed for Golden Gate when source is cloned using RMAN? If not, then how can this be handled? Before GG, customer was using DB link that was very easy to reconfigure post source DB clone.
