Default Supplier Type value depending on a custom Descriptive Flex field in Supplier

Our Client has a requirement where if a user select a specific value in custom Descriptive Flex Field 'Delay Group' then it should accordingly default the supplier type value.

As per case scenario if the user select 'Delay Group' value as 002 then the supplier type should automatically populate as "MER' and similarly there are couple of other scenarios depending on Delay Group value the Supplier Type should populate specific value. It's fine if after defaulting the user is allowed to modify the value.
