is there way to skip current approver but not have email sent

Summary: Is there a way to skip current approver in BPM for multiple levels but not have emails sent to the approvers? We are seeing that even if we skip approvals that the emails are sent to the user that we skipped which causes confusion. A use case would be if something needed to be changed on the req that business deemed as immaterial but they had to withdraw the req after level 1 and level 2 approvers already approved.
