How to add in display name for Salary.Action Reason Identifier attribute?

Summary:

For seeded model 50009: Employees with More than One Annual Salary Change we want to display the Salary Action Reason. There is a seeded attribute under the Salary object called Action Reason Identifier which displays the system number value. Is there another business object we can associate to get the real display name, e.g., Grade Step Rate Progression, Reorg? If not, is there a way to query this information (system number to display name) and make a custom object?
