How do you create a DATETIME value set for assignment EFF

We have a business requirement where we are required to record transaction date and timestamp in an Assignment extensible flexfield for users to be able to view the information. We are a coexistence customer and are easily able to meet the same requirement in our E-Business Suite environment by using the seeded FND_STANDARD_DATETIME valueset in one of our EITs. Has anyone had this issue and found a solution. We have raised an SR but we feel someone may have come across this and solved it.
