equivalent nodes filter

Hi,

We have Balance Sheet and Income Statement rollups in the same hierarchy and viewpoint. We also have 2 alternate viewpoints for BS and IS. We've tried to use the Equivalent Nodes filter with both alternate hierarchies/viewpoint…it errors out…as anything added to the primary BS has to also be in both the IS and BS alternate hierarchies/viewpoints. Is there a way to dictate that any child of the BS hierarchy in the primary viewpoint goes only to the BS alternate Viewpoint as well as anything added to the IS Primary hierarchy only goes to the IS Alternate viewpoint?
