How can I import a dimension file, from the inbox folder that is pipe delimited using API

I have uploaded a file to my PCM application data exchange inbox folder. I was looking to use Import API call shown here to import the dimension from a csv/ txt file. These files are pipe delimited. Currently I don't see any documentation mentioning how to do so. Any Ideas?
