Customers on lease accounting

Good day,

While am creating a new lease accounting the system will ask for the customer's name, and then while creating the payment under the same lease the application is asking for a customer name for each payment am creating, and on validation there is no error if multiple customers are selected and the lease is processed successfully,

how to prevent this behavior or control that the user will select the same customer for the whole lease and payments?
