How to use text feature in configurator?

Summary:

There is a requirement where user will enter some data at run time. For example, Year. This data business want to flow till work order. In configurator, we have Text Feature, where user can enter data. But, how to flow this data till work order? Do we need to add any component for this in Item Structure?
